Memorial Weekend

This weekend was full of adventure! We had two trips to the dog park and two BBQ's. He had so much fun playing with a bunch of husky's at the dog park and some new puppy friends. He is starting to come out of his shell there and he is starting to play with dogs on his own will. He wants to run around and dig in the dirt... what else is knew right?! We were talking to the other husky owners and discussing differences and similarities of our pups. I love his husky community we are apart of, you have to have one to know how special it is! He had so much fun chasing everyone at the park while everyone played frees-be golf. The big highlight of the weekend is that his poop is SOOO GOOD! Ok you should know me by now, this is something we get excited about! We can pick it up in one swipe :) But needless to say Koda had a great weekend and is extremely tired. A tired husky is a good husky!

Yet another hole...

I'm a happy puppy :)
Kevin's niece loved Koda!

Koda loves tormenting his Aunt Tracy

Koda loved watching Geese walking in the middle of the road

Koda loves kids and babies... All he wanted to do was watch Logan

Hopefully an answer!

Yesterday we received a call from Koda's doc; he had the results from the diarrhea panel we did last week. This test looks for about 8 different things. Unfortunately, Koda still has GIARRDIA! I swear this dog will have that forever! But he also has something called cryptosporidium, its another bug that lives with other lovely bugs. The vet says its not that common so they normally dont test for it, but it does cause long term diarrhea. So we are one some more meds, but hopefully we will have some normal poop from Koda in the near future. He hasnt had normal poop on his own since he was 9 weeks old!  So for now we are feeding him, his food, pumpkin, Metamucil, probiotics, 2 different meds and a multivitamin! We dream of the day where we just feed him his food. Our poor pup!

Boys day out

Jeff took Koda on a 3.5mile hike through the hills. The boys had a great time and we have a tired husky on our hands :)

Finally!!! I got a tooth!

Well we were down to his final couple baby teeth and out on our run I finally got one of them! We were trying to run but all he wanted to do was roll around on the grass. He kept rolling around scratching his head, until he finally stopped sat up and was chewing on something that sounded a lot like a rock. I opened his mouth to get it out and it was a TOOTH! All I wanted was to get a tooth, and it finally happened. Well I guess mother nature gave me pay back for taking one of his teeth that already fell out, because a little bit later I totally fell while we were running. Well let me re-phrase that, he runs I Rollerblade. Well I totally cut up my knee and ripped a hole in my pants. But I got a puppy tooth out of the deal... not to bad if I do say so myself ;-P hahaha
Love a tired huksy... all they want to do is snuggle!
THE TOOTH!!!!

Sorry Koda

Well our poor boy has been fighting with his diarrhea issues for about a month now. We were giving him pumpkin with his meals and it was definitely helping, but we didnt want to give him pumpkin forever. We started to wean him off the pumpkin and of course his diarrhea came right back. We took him to the vet yesterday and they ran a diarrhea panel to see if anything is going on with him. The vet thinks he may have a fiber deficiency but he isn't completely sure. We started to give him a fiber supplement but we didnt read the bottle extremely close. He bottle said it was a fiber supplement to help relieve constipation, not diarrhea. OOPS! We took him to daycare today and as I was pulling up to get him they were trying to call me. Apparently his diarrhea was SO bad today they had to pull him out. I couldn't believe it had gotten that bad... oh but it did! Tonight he went outside and it was like water coming out. I felt so bad! I went and gave him an entire can of pumpkin! Hopefully soon he will start to have regular poop again.

I graduated!!!!

Well it's been awhile this blog was updated so here is a recap :) Last week was mothers day and I received my first mothers day card from my parents. It said "Happy Puppy Mommy Day" How stinking cute right?! We went to the park and had a picnic and let Koda run around. He even dug his first hole! This past week he has gotten so snugly and wants to cuddle whenever he gets tired. I'M LOVING IT! Yesterday was Koda's last day of level one training and had to pass a test in order to pass. HE GRADUATED!!!! We were super nervous about him passing the tasks. He had to sit for a stranger approaching him (which he can do no problem), walk past a container of food and leave it alone, and finally go to a mat, lie down and stay while I walk away. He did it so well! After everyone took their test we had some time left over we played puppy jeopardy. There were categories and the task would get harder as points go up. We placed 2nd :) he even learned a new trick... to roll over! We are so proud of our little boy!

Koda is trying to stop Kevin's drinking problem ;-P

We're so proud!

Puppies care about babies too!

What an eventful weekend it has been so far! Yesterday was our good friends wedding and we were going to be gone all day and most of the night since we were in the wedding party. We didnt want to leave him home alone so we had him go to day care and spend the night. It was the first time he was going to be gone all night! I wanted to cry when I was dropping off his stuff. I couldn't believe I wasn't going to see my little boy all night! Well we picked up our little man first thing in the morning, not only because we missed him so much but because we were going to be walking in the March of Dimes walk. March of Dimes is an organization that helps raise money so they can find ways of preventing premature births in babies. Premature births is the leading cause of deaths in babies in the world. Well we got their right as the walk was starting and joined our team. It was a 5 mile walk! He was on stimulation overload, so much to see so many people to meet. He was having a blast! After the walk we were so tired that we crashed for a good 3 hour nap!!! No joke! Later on we went down to our friends house and we introduced Koda to, in his mind, big puppies... aka Horses. Our friends have 2 horses and he wasn't too sure what to make of them at first. They weren't moving around because we were getting them saddled up to go on a ride, so he probably thought they were statues. Once they started to get going, the was all excited and wanted to play! He thinks everyone is his friend and needs to play with him. Not only did he have horses to keep him entertained but another pup was there as well. He was having such much fun eating the dirt and grass as well as running around their yard. He was in puppy heaven! He also experienced his first campfire, he wasn't too thrilled by it. But he didnt want to leave, he was sooo tired but still wanted to play. Now he is fast asleep outside, hopefully we can get him to come inside in a little bit. The only down part to the night is that i forgot my camera!!! Super bummed!
Start of the walk :)
Koda is super excited to start the walk!
Hard to see but above the city line is the ocean

WE DID IT!!!!
Super tired!
